Flemish Swimming Federation in Antwerp
Objective of the project
As part of the project, a comprehensive and versatile analysis system for performance diagnostics of swimming athletes was developed for both training and competition. The Flemish Swimming Federation built a new pool exclusively for competitive swimming. During the planning phase, the integration of portholes for underwater cameras was taken into account to facilitate the installation of a video system within the swimming pool.
Purpose and area of application of the swim analysis
The swim analysis is used in professional competitive sports and includes start, turn, and race analysis (“Race Analysis”).
Start- und Turn Analysis
In addition to recording split times, the Race Analysis provides a detailed evaluation of stroke technique, including stroke rate, stroke length, and the number of strokes.

Comprehensive swimming analysis with TV screen and analysis room
Which additional value has the analysis system created for the Flemish Swimming Federation in Antwerp?
- Quick availability of analysis data: Thanks to an optimised workflow that significantly reduces data processing time and requires fewer devices, results are available much more quickly. In addition, a quantitative evaluation of technical skills is possible.
- Direct feedback: Swimmers receive immediate feedback on their technique within a few seconds, enabling them to recognise and correct incorrect movement patterns immediately. This promotes faster adaptation and improvement in training and competition.
USED PRODUCTS
Visual feedback via TV monitor: An additional poolside TV monitor offers swimmers instant visual feedback. This enables athletes to view their movements immediately after recording and make targeted adjustments. The combination of visual feedback and technical analysis promotes immediate performance and technique optimisation.
